Overview
The Orientation Tournament marks the official start of the academic year for the UTech Chess Club. Designed to welcome both new and returning members, it provides an opportunity to introduce players to the club’s competitive culture, foster camaraderie, and showcase emerging talent. Beyond serving as an icebreaker event, the tournament also helps set the tone for the year ahead, enabling members to gain experience, build confidence, and prepare for upcoming intercollegiate competitions.
